ARIRON (THE SEER)

Synopsis

Fakunle, a man born in the Sumolu Kingdom, possesses the rare gift of dreaming and seeing visions, but his ability is cursed. His visions, which only show evil, make him an outcast in his kingdom, a place where he is neither loved nor valued. In self-imposed exile, Fakunle lives alone in the Ijamu Forest, away from the turmoil of the kingdom.

One fateful day, his solitary existence changes when he encounters Arokun, a mystical woman with the power to heal and also see visions. Arokun’s gift is one that the Igari hunters covet, intending to sell her to foreign slave traders. When Fakunle saves Arokun from their brutal attack, their destinies intertwine.

As the two form a bond that goes beyond their shared abilities, they find themselves caught in the political intrigue and war within Sumolu. The kingdom is plagued by a violent power struggle, as the royal princes vie for the throne. Fakunle and Arokun’s involvement in this conflict exposes them to betrayal, ambition, and bloodshed as they navigate the treacherous waters of power and revenge.

Characters

Fakunle (Late 30s. A tall, dark-skinned man)

A man with a mysterious and intense gaze. Fakunle is a visionary with the ability to see dark and troubling futures, which has left him isolated and burdened. He lives a reclusive life in the Ijamu Forest, carrying an aura of wisdom mixed with sorrow, as his visions have only shown him the kingdom’s suffering and doom.

Arokun (No age Given, Mystical Creature)

A strikingly beautiful woman with a radiant, supernatural aura that shimmers with rainbow hues. Dark-skinned and graceful, Arokun has healing abilities and the power of visions, much like Fakunle. Her compassionate nature and mystical presence make her both revered and hunted in the kingdom.

Funbi(15 years old)Daughter of Fakunle.

Funbi, as Fakunle's daughter, carries a unique gift of her own, which she is still coming to understand. Her journey becomes entangled with the complex destinies of her father and Arokun, drawing her into a fate of darkness and foreboding. As a result, she finds herself living a life touched by sadness and sacrifice, with her once-bright future overshadowed by the burdens her family’s gifts and choices have imposed upon her. This struggle between duty, destiny, and the desire for happiness creates a poignant inner conflict for Funbi, shaping her into a resilient yet somber character.

Prince Akinade (20s)

Prince Akinade's journey is marked by the constant challenge of his heritage. With his mother being of lower status, he is frequently mocked by the other princes, who refer to him as a "half prince." Despite these insults, Akinade remains determined and works tirelessly to earn his father's recognition, aiming to prove his worthiness to rule. His resilience in the face of adversity is driven by his desire to one day claim the throne and change how he's perceived—both by the nobility and by his own father, King Adewunmi. This struggle between external rejection and internal ambition adds depth to his character, making him a figure of both vulnerability and strength.

Queen Oriade (50s)

Queen Oriade is a powerful and ambitious woman, fiercely protective of her son, Prince Adegoroye. She commands a loyal following and will stop at nothing to secure the throne for him, seeing it as her ultimate goal. As a princess from the Lanikan Kingdom, Oriade’s royal background grants her a network of influential allies, including her brother, King Tade, who plays a role in her political machinations. Her determination and willingness to go to any length to ensure her son’s reign make her both a formidable and calculating presence in the kingdom.
