David Steelbridge is a successful businessman who is preparing to give his annual benefactor's address at his old high school, the one his children go to now. He will emphasise the lofty values of diligence and oversight. Recently his son Josh, bullied at school, has been increasingly withdrawn. Both David and Josh's mother Clare haven't taken the time to notice how seriously his mental health has deteriorated. Only David's chauffeur Stephan seems to care. At the same time as David's speech, Josh goes armed to school and will make a life-changing, tragic decision. The irony will be that we witness his horrific act to the soundtrack of his father's speech emphasising the very thing he has failed at.
