Synopsis

CHRIS is an idealistic police officer struggling to pay for a liver transplant surgery that his newborn premature daughter NICOLE desperately needs. His police partner, JAMIE, an ambitious and ruthless individual, gets involved with dangerous criminals to pay off his gambling debts. Chris undertakes a perilous private security job, escorting a large cash transfer for a wealthy businessman, HAROLD, in exchange for a fee that can help fund the surgery. However, Harold's son, RANDALL, a self-centered, spoiled brat, with the help of his buddy, Jamie, hijacks the money that Chris is moving along with his mentor, Sergeant STEVE, who volunteers to help Chris in his mission. Together, they track and locate the money, but Jamie shoots and gravely wounds Steve, and Chris gets away with the money. In a desperate move, Randall kidnaps Chris's wife, BETH, a loyal and a support pill for Chris, to force Chris to return the money. In the aftermath, Jamie kills Randal after he's bothered by his behavior and to keep the money for himself. Then Jamie threatens to kill Beth if Chris doesn't hand over the money. In an opportunity, Beth charges and nudges Jamie, so Chris takes a clear shot and instantly kills Jamie in self-defense. Chris takes Beth to safety and then returns the money to Harold, deducting his promised fee. They find peace in each other and their daughter after the successful surgery. They are forever grateful for Steve's support and optimistic for Nicole's future.

Characters

CHRIS BAKER

The protagonist. Chris’ character is well-developed in terms of his moral complexity and emotional depth. His motivations are clear and relatable, driving the narrative forward compellingly. His evolution throughout the screenplay, from a law-abiding officer to someone who takes the law into his own hands, is well-paced and believable.
