To save the Earth and his own life, a young genius must travel a 10-year journey to an Alien planet and return to Earth with superhuman powers.
John and Maria meet in college - their love is blessed from the start. The young couple graduate and start their happy home, and Maria becomes pregnant. However, the child is born prematurely, and though little Jon-Jon holds on for as long as he can, he never leaves the incubator. Maria is crushed, and her extended grief is only saved by quick thinking from John, who heals their hearts and marriage by taking a cruise.
Maria's doctor told her she could no longer conceive, but a miracle happens, and she gets pregnant. She considers the child a gift from God, and she may be right - for during a treacherous run to the hospital with an injured, pregnant Maria, John resorts to a dynamic prayer...which is answered by an eerie light and sound. In the delivery room, losing a lot of blood, Maria almost doesn't make it - hovering out of her body, Maria dying on the table, she somehow survives, and baby Josh is born. Josh is knowledgeable at a young age - at ten, he reads advanced subjects. He is considered a freak by his peers and wants to be a normal kid. He manages to make a lifelong best friend, Jimmy. Amazed at his intelligence, Jimmy wonders if he's a superhero...Jimmy could be his sidekick! Josh only knows he's got incredible powers of retention. He suspects something is up with all these bar codes he sees...an alien plot to control human beings...
Josh's headaches bring them to the doctor, who delivers grim news - Josh has congenital hydrocephalus and could die within a few years. Josh opts to make the best of his time remaining and uses his "phenomenal mind" to enlighten people with his views on life and the world situation and raise awareness of brain disorders. But the pace of his speaking tours is too much for him, and a stroke puts him in a coma. While his body remains comatose, Josh encounters a reasonable Alien life force who can take his consciousness to their ship in Earth orbit. They tell him his suspicions are correct. Evil Aliens are using bar codes to take over Earth by controlling humans. They need Josh to help fight the evil Aliens, convince the people on Earth, and prepare for war. In return, the good Aliens can cure Josh, but only by taking a 10-year journey to their planet, returning to Earth with superhuman powers, and joining forces with his new Alien friends to fight an epic battle together.
