Based on how two African American brothers mastered cleaning clothes into a profitable business industry during the 1920s and 30s. The Doles brothers managed to save their money from tips and money earned from odd jobs here and there. They secured a business loan from one of the first Negro Banks in Harlem. This was the start of their new beginning. The brothers finally made their dreams come true but had many nightmares. The Doles brothers survived the DEPRESSION, the MOB, and even RACISM. It was about survival, conquering the world with a cleaning business, and going face-to-face with the Mob. Collins Doles invented a cleaning solution that would revolutionize the laundry business. Their laundry business even survived the market crash in 1929. Unfortunately, the brothers did not obtain the proper patents to secure their product and mark their permanent historical place. Nevertheless, the two brothers made history by keeping a payroll worth $250,000 and employing over 60 workers.
My script is based on the lives of my grandfather, David Doles, and my great-uncle, Collins, during the 1920s and 30s. The Mob confronted the Doles brothers, assuring them they were not involved in any criminal activities by taking money from their territory. My Grandfather lived until 102 ½, leading a Phenomenal life. Sadly, my uncle passed away at the age of 100. Unfortunately, he did not get the credit and the patient for his cleaning solutions.
