I am an Ecuadorian filmmaker, born in the central highlands of Ecuador, in the land of flowers and fruits, Ambato-Tungurahua. During my adolescence, I discovered photography thanks to my brother, which led to exhibiting a photographic project at "La Casa de la Cultura de Ambato" alongside several young artists. My passion for photography and cinema inspired me to pursue a degree in Film and Video at Universidad San Francisco de Quito, where I also completed a Minor in Still Photography. During my studies, I worked on various projects across different fields, focusing primarily on directing, camera work, and cinematography. One of my key projects, Espinos y Cardos (documentary), won the Municipality of Quito Award for Arts and Sciences in 2020 in the Ernesto Albán Mosquera category: Medium and Long Duration Video. The documentary also participated in the "Encuentros del Otro Cine festival" (EDOC) and other festivals. Additionally, I have directed short fiction films, with "Flores Secas" standing out. This short premiered at the Quito Latin American Film Festival (2020), the Guayaquil Film Festival (2021), and the Buenos Aires Indie Shorts Awards (2021). After the pandemic, I completed a postgraduate degree and master's in Directing at the "Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisual de Catalunya" (ESCAC). I made two short films that are currently in post-production. I am currently involved in the writing and development of a short film about postpartum depression and childhood, as well as conducting research for my debut feature film.
