I loved watching Doctor Who when growing up and I liked the way Russell T Davis wrote his episodes, RTD is the writer who inspired me to become a screenwriter
Mine is kind of a long story lol. It started from a very young age for me, I think I was like 10 years old so that was back in 2000, in art class we were tasked with partnering up with another classmate, one would be the illustrator and one had to be the writer, I chose to be the writer, however my partner wasn't fully confident in his art skills and luckily I was a decent artist so I helped a lot with that too. We then had to pick a book to make an adaptation to, we chose "The Three Little Pigs and the Big Bad Wolf" since I was the writer I was the one who had to come up with the premise and title and then write it, so I named it "The Big Bad Pigs: Revenge on The Wolf." Story basically was the wolf had went to prison for blowing the pigs houses down but years later had escaped, now the pigs fully grown and beefed up from working out made it their duty to track the wolf down and bring him back to prison, the story ended with the pigs doing the same thing to the wolf (blowing his houses down) after finding him at multiple homes he tried to built out of straw, sticks and brick. The wolf returned to prison to serve his time and when he got out the pigs and the wolf actually all became good friends. Not only did it win best story in the class but everyone in the whole school loved it so much that the principal put the story up inside a glass frame in the hallways of the school along with trophies and such, the feeling of seeing how everyone loved what I created through words inspired me to continue to seek that feeling, the ability to share my vision with multitudes of people is very fulfilling for me, not only that but during that moment I felt as though writing was my calling. I have worked on many projects throughout my life, some financially beneficial and some not so much, but I'll tell you as long as I can continue to reach even one person, that would be enough for me to keep me writing.
wow I am getting goosebumps. This feels so powerful. And it's also such a really beautiful true story. It sounds interesting to me just reading those couple lines. I wish you so much inspiration and always the right words to put on the papers. The path is bright for you and you will for sure inspire millions.
I only started writing screenplays very recently. Ever since I was a kid, I liked writing. I’ve tried my hand at a few novels but I haven’t finished anything yet. I took a screenwriting class last semester on a whim last semester and I kind of like it. I really started to dive into screenwriting when I decided to convert one of the books I was writing into a tv show. The story wasn’t really working as a book, so I decided to try writing it as a screenplay and it felt like a much better fit for the story. I still have a lot to learn, but I’m hoping to one day be able to bring this story to life.
